Aside from being my birthday month, 3 significant things have happened in my lifetime (so far).

JFK was assassinated the day before my birthday.

I told my mother some groundbreaking bad news.

Barack Obama was elected into presidency.

Not one to save things for posterity, I suddenly was moved to get the L.A. Times celebrating Obama's victory.

The last time I intentionally went out sleuthing a periodical that meant anything, was when Audrey Hepburn passed away.

To me, she was the epitome of beauty and grace. Obama is a different kind of beauty and grace.

Sensing the country's reaction to Obama's victory, there indeed is a new feeling about us Americans. Don't know if I can articulate what that is, but there's definitely something new, and that something has got to be good.
