Can’t believe my last blog was the 19th and here it is – the end of the month already! Sooo much has happened since!
So here’s the scoop in case you were curious:
Last Wednesday, flew into Eugene: 4pm. Visited w/friends over dinner at their house, nicknamed ‘The Vine’, then early bedtime.
Thursday: got great coffee at Theo's and a Trailblazer to load up donations to St. Vincent de Paul’s. Dinner w/friends at Sweet Basil (fabulous Thai restaurant), and early to bed again.
Friday: loaded the 22' Penske and headed out to Ashland, where we spent the night. Long trip. Tired souls.
Saturday: Black Bear Diner; headed out to San Fran; met up w/our son (Justin); stayed at the Kabuki Hotel; went to an 8:30 show at Yoshi's (exclusive jazz club/restaurant).
J got us great seats; Herb Alpert & Lani Hall delivered a sweet, tight set. The crowd loved them. He played that horn with style and Lani's voice was smooth as silk. They both were great stage presences and were digging the audience’s responses.
We were invited to hang out with them after the show where drinks and appetizers were comped. Everyone was a genuinely nice person and professional in their craft.
Back at our luxury room at the Kabuki - was bliss. Elegant yet understated decor with contemporary furnishings and artwork, made us feel as though we were in the royalty suite.
Sunday: bye to J and head back home. Tired but glad to be back, we dove into bed at 9.
Monday: brother Steve, and friends Frank and Pete, helped us unpack the Penske. Later that day, Frank and wife Bev, hosted a Memorial Day BBQ for all of us.
Yesterday and today has been slowly unpacking... and it's still not over yet. It's times like these that I can relate to the tortoise, who kept plodding forward onto the finish line. Is it in sight yet?
