Hot in Houston

What can one do for fun when it is this hot in town? Well, I went grocery shopping early - 89 degrees here. Now, I will spend the rest of my day inside where it is cool. I would like to leave the man who invented a/c about 2 million dollars (if I had it. Ha!!)

Have been looking at my granddaughter's pictures from Croatia where they are on vacation. It is so beautiful there. Might meet them there next year - if I am still this chipper. They have rented an appartment instead of a hotel, as it is much cheaper. Will try to send a pic or two to you.

My little Annie (dog) came in all covered in what I thought was mud - but it was dog poop - from my Shnauzers grand-dogs) and I had to bathe her. She won't fit in any vanity bowl, so I had to use the kitchen sink. Don't tell the lady that does our cooking, or she will kill me.

School starts here next week. Then we will have a noise afternoon with all the dogs greeting the kids that get off the bus at 3 and 4. They love that time of day. I bought a bark-off, but let them have a few times to bark.

Love to all my bloging buddies. Nenah

Nenah you are doing wonderfully well. It could be that your heart prob lem is really hiatal hernia. It mimics a heart attack. I am sorry you
had to bathe poop off your dog. My little Sheltie could never keep it off
her tail feathers but Rex stays immaculate. He has the kind of fur that
just sheds dirt. These hot summer days are awful.

Come on down to the South, for our great winters.

Does the Bark Off really work? I'm interested in getting one.

It works wonders with out three small yappers. I let them bark a few seconds, then turn it on. My Min-Pin looks at me with such disdain before she leave to hide under the bed. Best $20 I ever spent. I shared the second one with son and dil, who have Schnauzers.

Hi Nena. I'm glad you are doing (Chipper) well. My Daddy used to say, I"m alright except what ails me.about the sink!

We've been having some hot days here, too, but night it cools down to 45 degrees. Still waiting for my tomatoes to ripen, but it's too cool overnight.

I looked into moving to SC once, but at the time I looked it was August, and 100 degrees in most parts of the state. I like spending time outside.... guess I'll never live south of NY in the summer! As for the kitchen sink... I think I'll forget I read that.

South Carolina has the most beautiful and abundant Rhododendrons and Azaleas you ever did see, though.
