Homecoming 2010

The whole week before is building up our spirit for the football game and dance, our excitement for the year to come, and to have fun.

The game Friday before is our homecoming football game, where the entire school and then some turns out to watch our team play, while everyone eats tons of food, wears the blinding red and white school colors, cheers on the team, and socialize with others. It's incredible.

This year the theme of our homecoming was Alice in Wonderland, so the spirit days were based off of that: Mad Hatter Day, Very Merry un-Birthday, Cheshire Cat Day, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum Day, and the only unthemed one Spirit Day.

We did crazy things to show our spirit, wearing crazy hats, stripes, and the best of them all, being twins. For Tweedle Dee and Dum day, me and 9 other of my friends got 10 shirts and spelled out WONDERLAND on the back of them, each being a letter. Then on that day we each wore a letter, so during lunch we stood next to each other and spelled WONDERLAND. It was genius.

The Homecoming Dance, however, was a night like no other. Homecoming is a huge deal, because it is an extravagant evening, in which we are required to wear formal attire, and dance the night away in the school auditorium. You get a large group of people together, get semi-expensive dresses, and do your hair super nice. The entire night is dedicated to just having fun with your friends and the people you love and making a party out of life. What can be more fun? The dance itself is only as good as the other students make it, but because you are with friends everything is a grand memory to look back on.

The gym was decorated nicely. The entrance had fake grass laid down and topiaries, and when you went through the door you entered a giant balloon arch that formed a tight tunnel to the dance floor. At the end of the tunned was a door way, and then you were out in the open. The floor was checkerboard, they had petite desserts lined up for us to take, and even three mini casinos where students could go and play blackjack. But it was still the cafeteria.

All in all, it was a night I'll hopefully never forget and never regret.

Here is a picture of us girls while we waited for our dates to pick us up:

And lastly, a few pictures with my date:

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I hope you enjoyed it.

It's high school, and I want to make the best of it.

Looks like tons of fun. You were pretty evasive with any info on your date. Nothing special? You make a "handsome" couple.

You look stunningly beautiful in your dress and I love your necklace. Did anyone ever tell you your smile is just like Julia Roberts'? It makes me smile to see it. Gorgeous. I hope you had fun.

Thank you for the compliments -- no, I've never been told my smile is just like Julia Roberts. I love her, so I'm really loving that comparison, so thanks a bunch!
