TGIF

Hey it's me again.

What has happened since the last time I blogged on here? Well I am writing this on our new laptop after our old one decided it had enough. I don't know if you've seen the dell advert that has the song, "Lollipop!" in? I have one of those laptops now in red. We were gonna get blue but they didn't have any, and if it had been fully up to me then I would have gotten a pink one.

What else? I have a new love obsession and all. I'm really crushing on this guy but it is not good because he is in college and my parents 'forbid' me to date a college boy. Any ideas about what I can do now, because seriously I really really like this guy and I would love to be his date for homecoming next month. Here's a picture that my friend took of the two of us: his name is Daniel and he's just as sweet as he is smoking hot.

Yesterday I mowed the lawn and we grilled outside. I tried to mow the lawn straight but I ended up with these curves in the garden which made me laugh. My Dad wasn't as pleased. I did Polish Sausages (can't spell) on the outside grill with sauteed onions, cabbage, and beets. The sausages were slightly overcooked but everyone said they tasted good. My buscia would be proud.

I was out walking my dog last night..actually, Ruby was walking ME...and there was the most amazing moon I've ever seen. Unfortunately I left my cellphone back at home or I would have taken a picture of it. I'm hoping tonight the moon will look similar so I can get a shot of it. The tree's are already changing too around here -- Fall is such a pretty time in WI.

Finally, my favorite show Modern Family premiered this week on ABC. The show is so funny and sweet all at the same time.
-The show has a "traditional" family made up of a mom/dad/son/2 teen daughters. To see these parents at work ("I'm a cool dad!") is to see that the traditional model of parenting (think All in the Family/Simpsons/Cosby Show) is slowly being displaced.
-A "non-traditional" family made up of an older husband/much younger "hot latina" wife and her son from earlier marriage.
-And lastly, but definitely not least..., and (hard to think it's 2010 and this still being the most groundbreaking family dynamic of this sitcom) -- is the 2 gay dad/daughter configuration.

Cameron and Mitchell happen to be my favorite couple in the series and their little adopted daughter Lily is so adorable: (If you haven't seen this show yet, I strongly urge you to start...my entire family has become addicted to it!)

Have a great weekend everyone!

I understand your parents' concern. I had 3 teenage daughters at one time!
My advice is "patience". Be cool, be slow, be patient. I started to watch Modern Family the other night, but somehow got distracted. Next week, on your recommendation.

Simpson's is traditional??? Hmmmm
Dating college boys... it's a challenge at your age!!! I agree tho that your parents are looking out for your own good so they set those rules... it's hard to understand now ... haha same ole same ole ... but it's true!!!
He is hot though - you go girl! Maybe have your parents meet him so they can trust him?

The only thing I can think of on the dating thing would be if you double-dated with someone your parents trust. Good luck with that. I know you know that the rules your folks make are for your own good, and someday you'll look back and thank them. You have such a good head on your shoulders they are lucky to have your for their daughter.

I'll be writing a post very soon about this, but basically my parents think he's too old for me. I suppose it makes sense especially since he'll be graduating from college this year, and I doubt he'll want to date someone still in high school. Anyway, I'm okay with it. I have another date for Homecoming next weekend -- so all is good!
