Spring. That's what it is! Spring has sprung. The sun is shinning, the birds are gathered by the dozens around the Finch sacks, the wooden birdfeeder that is supposed to be squirrel proof but isn't and the houses just for the blue birds that have already arrived. I've got hasta poking its little green heads from the soil. The pear tree is in bloom and the apple trees have tiny leaves sneaking a peak from the bare limbs. My neighbor mowed his lawn yesterday as Hubby sat there just pea-green with envy since his mower is at the "lawn mower hospital" getting blades sharpened and oil changed and all that other stuff which is required before the first mowing of the season. (The mower comes home today. Prognosis good for full Summer of work.)
There is just something about Spring. The promise of new life all around me and the soft hues of the dogwoods as they send forth blooms of pink and white. It seems to have happened all at once. Little wild violets are appearing in the back yard and the dandylions have already sent out the little flat, yellow flowers. I even like to see the "weeds"!
Maybe now we will all feel like posting something bright and cheerful. Maybe Grumpy will come out of his hole and give us words of wisdom. (HAHAHAHA...I tell joke!)
Enough of this sitting here clicking away at keys. Gotta head off to Lowes, Home Depot or Holcome's Nursery to look at new plants and ideas for adding color and beauty to my little space on Earth.
Better still...I will try to bring sunshine and brightness to my spirit and let it overflow to other people who need a little pick-me-up. I will look at the creation around me and remember the Creator! I will attempt to have a "spring face" and put the "winter scowl" away in the closet with the coats and sweaters.
Mz Scarlett...doing a little dance, singing a little song (even if slightly off-key).
