I could go into all kinds of details about the weekend spent visiting with my friend M. But the main topic on my mind this morning is that in 43 minutes we'll be meeting with CEO to ask him about the status of new leadership for our team.
While we've heard rumblings throughout the office from a few very good sources that Manager has already been demoted, because nothing has been "officially" announced, he is still hanging on for dear life -- constantly giving us new assignments, micromanaging all our work, and showing up to our weekly meetings.
Of course, perhaps Manager is completely oblivious to this demotion? Maybe when they told him of his new responsibilities, it was not made crystal clear, and he assumed that these new tasks were in addition to what he already does? For instance, the other day Manager told DMC that he was planning on taking a trip up here to meet with us, and CEO asked him why. Manager chuckled at CEO's response, because after all, why wouldn't he fly up for a visit to see his team? Oh, unless of course we *weren't* his team anymore... Maybe someone should really sit him down and spell it out.
What a mess, eh?
Anyhow, we'll see what transpires from the meeting this morning... I'm quite looking forward to it.
