I loved the book when I read it in high school. I was planning on seeing it with a friend, who also enjoyed it way back in English class. We both remember the emphasis on the themes and symbolism of colours. I read the book again in recent years, and still enjoyed it. J was just telling me this evening that reviews have been mixed - although this is the first review I've read. Sorry to hear it's a disappointment.

Thanks. It's great to hear from you. Yes, you should get back to blogging. I've always loved reading your stuff, (although your bursts of inspired FB comments have been a nice bite-sized substitute). I was so sorry to hear about what you went through with Mary Ellen. I remember that brought me to tears, and reminded me to count my blessings, even as I sat alone in that empty house.

Yeah, we've definitely been through the wringer, but we've been coming through the other side these last few months with A LOT more perspective. Knock on wood the worst is behind us, and the best is yet to come.
