This morning, at breakfast, Mom and I (mostly Mom) discussed how much she disliked the home care ladies coming to her home. I explained that the program was finished now so they wouldn't be coming any more. She was happy to hear that and told me if one did show up I was to turn her away. Sure enough this government run agency, who's left hand doesn't know what it's right hand is doing, sent another home care lady to Mom's house. I answered the door and politely told her her services were not required. She was headed back to her car as I closed the door. A few minutes later Mom rounds the corner with her walker and asked if that was the home care worker. I told her yes and Mom says, "Well, seeing as she's come all this way, she can come in and help me get washed and dressed." I suppose I could have run outside and maybe caught the lady before she left but I figured Mom needs to start doing these things for herself. As of December 6th even I won't be here. I know that if I stay here any longer than that I will become a bad daughter.
