Yep, you read that right.
Saturday afternoon I was putting stuff into the shed and apparently I had disturbed a wasp’s nest without noticing it until too late. One of them nailed my arm several times before I could get it off of me.
Over the next 24 hours my forearm swelled up and hurt like hell. It’s just now starting to feel closer to normal. But I’m starting to get a bit worried about my reaction to the sting. This time last year I was stung about 10-12 times while riding the motorcycle down the highway.
I had one fly up my t-shirt sleeve and into the back of the shirt. That one got me about 5 times before I killed it. Then about 2 miles later I had a second one do the same thing. This one got me about 7-8 times before I killed that one.
Well I never really got a bad welt out of all of those stings. I mean, yeah they hurt, and later they itched a bit, but I didn’t have a bad reaction to the stings. Then Saturday I get stung about 3 times and my whole forearm swells up.
I’m going to my allergist tomorrow for a 6 month check up anyway so I think I’ll let him run some tests and see if I haven’t become more sensitive to stings
Other things:
My friends Ben and Jody are moving down to this area from the great white north and they should be here tonight. Well by “here” I really mean about two hours away from here, where I live.
Tomorrow I’m going to jump on the motorcycle and drive down to the town where they are moving to and help them put their stuff in storage. Ben hurt his back the other day loading the moving van, so they will need all the help they can get tomorrow. The bad thing is that I will have to leave them at about 1:30pm to get back into town for my doctors appointment at 3:30pm. Luckily most of it is highway so I’ll just be able to open up the throttle and roll.
I’ve applied for a few different jobs this past week or so. Who knows how that will work out? I again have my hopes but … Oh well.
