Well, here I am, back in the state of Tennessee. We survived the trip both to and from Michigan, the trip coming back being the worst one. Most of the time I can keep my temper, but it was sorely tested on the trip back. It would seem all the idiots came out to drive stupidly and carelessly and we observed several pay for their transgressions with a state trooper on their tail. Ha, serves ‘em right too!
Overall Christmas was quite the success. On the days we weren’t driving were spent being quite relaxed in my parents living room or my Aunt’s or my sister’s. I have to tell ya, my niece is really talented when it comes to music. She only picked up the flute 4 months ago and is sitting in 1st chair in her grade. She gave us a little concert in the living room and I have to say, she’s damn good! I’ve had a guitar for about six years and don’t know spit on it!
As for presents, I got M a windshield for her motorcycle. She’s been having issues with her neck and I think it has a lot to do with her riding her bike and having to fight to keep her head still with all the wind knocking her about. So I kinda combined her birthday and Christmas presents together. She’s used to riding either with me on my bike or riding my bike alone, so she’s just not used to all the wind pressure.
I got a new 8Gig iPod from M. I’ve been looking for a used 80Gig iPod Classic at the local pawn shops because I have about six gigs of music and about six gigs more in TV shows on the laptop and my old iPod was only a 4Gig. I got sick of any time I wanted to hear a specific song it wasn’t on the iPod because there wasn’t room for it. Now I can get all of my music and all of the podcasts I want on one unit and not have to worry about space on the hard drive!
I also got some cash, which is what I asked for. I want to buy either a welder or an air compressor and I just needed that little bit more to be able to afford it.
I had my MRI done last Tuesday and I got the results today. I definitely have disc disease and now I’m going to be seeing a neurosurgeon for further evaluation. Yeah you read that right, a freaking NEUROSURGEON! I mean I could understand if I was in pain all the time, but I’m not. And every time I hear about surgery on someone’s back or neck, it’s always worse after the surgery than it was before. I really don’t think I’ll be having any kind of surgery in the near future, unless the Doctor can come up with a VERY compelling reason. Something along the lines of death or paralysis.
Oh well. That’s about all I have for now. I know I’m forgetting something, but since I’ve forgotten it, I don’t know what it was I needed to remember… Er, yeah, you know what I meant, right?
I’m Alive… So Far…
