Yesterday:
I’ve been getting a little bit of cabin fever lately, mainly because of the poor weather. It’s been raining off and on nearly every single day for the last 2 weeks. And if it wasn’t actively raining, then it looked like it would begin to rain any moment.
Add to that the things I would normally do to distract myself during bad weather usually cost some money and we are seriously strapped at the moment. So the things I would normally do in good weather don’t cost anything, like working in the garden or in the yard isn’t happening and I’m stuck in the house with nothing but house work and studying to be done.
Yesterday ended up being a pretty nice day, even if it was a bit cool out, the sun was shining and I was getting sick and tired of being here at the house. I was trying to study, but I ended up cranking up the classic heavy metal station on Sirius Satellite Radio and got a bit crazy.
Next thing I know I’m 20 miles from the house on the motorcycle with my iPod cranking out ‘80s heavy metal in my ears. One thing leads to another and then I’m rolling down the Blue Ridge Parkway. Finally I made a conscious decision to get off the Parkway and hit some major twisty roads and blast through as fast as I could.
Boy, that part felt GOOD. Every year I have to go out and hit the twisties really hard to get my “feel” back for the motorcycle. So far this year I haven’t had the chance to do that because I was always out with M on her bike, and I had to keep my self restrained, so that M didn’t try to “over-drive” herself to keep up with me on her motorcycle.
Anyhow, I managed to blow off some steam and all it cost me was a tank of gas.
Well, back to the studying!
