The end of an era has passed and a new one with much hope is now beginning. I listened to our new president make his speech yesterday and I actually felt as though he was speaking to me, not “at” me as I have felt so in the recent past. In the recent past the phrase “the American People” seemed to be some one else, not me or the people I knew.
But today I may have some hope that, although things will be bad in our economic future, it will get better. There is someone in charge that will and can pay attention to detail, will not let people slip up and will hold everyone to a higher standard than we have known in the past.
I’m proud to say that even though I have been a life long Republican, I did vote for Barak Obama because we do need a leader. I will expect great things from him; just as I expected great things from past presidents. Sometimes I was disappointed, sometimes proud of our leader.
We shall see if we are to be proud soon I feel.
