Continued:

M went out a few months ago and got her motorcycle endorsement on her drivers license, so we've been trading off on who gets to ride my bike into work. But a few weeks ago a really good deal on a wrecked Honda pretty much dropped in our laps and we snapped it up. We spent about $320 in parts and its on the road now...

Well it would be but for the remains of hurricane Fay that have been sitting over us for this whole week. I still need to complete the body work on the bike but it's ridable as-is. M is so excited to have her own bike, and she already "named" it. (Long story!)

As you can tell I sometimes just add to a post the next day if I don't think that there's enough to justify posting in one day.

Anyway... I just heard today about a poker run that's on for tomorrow. For those of you who don't know, a poker run is when you start a Point A (usually a bar) and at each successive stop (again usually a bar) you pick up a playing card. The best poker hand at the end of the run wins the prize pot. It usually cost about $10 a bike or $10 a hand if two people riding one bike each want their own poker hand to play.

Whew! Long weekend is over and I had a good time.

M and I went on the poker run Saturday and we had a pretty good time. M was pretty nervous riding in a group but I think she did awesome. As we made our stops we talked to many people who offered encouragement to M and were happy to have us along. We rode about 140 miles all told on Saturday.

We rode the bikes to church on Sunday and after that we drove into the Next Town Over (or NTO as I like to call it) to find a video and pick up a few things.

I had to get on her case a few times about how she rides in city traffic. She flat-out scared the crap outta me once (it scared her too) and I made her pull over so we could "discuss" what had just happened.

You see, M is an OR nurse and over the last several years she had been involved in attempting to repair the damage from a motorcycle wrecks. She always worries about me on the bike, but sometimes I think she forgets that I worry about her even more. But there is only one way to gain experience, and that's just by riding.

I do tend to get a bit freaked out when she doesn't show up at the gym, or is late getting home and I don't know what has happened to her.

I have one horrible fear and that is that she will be killed in an accident or some such thing will happen and I'll lose her. You see folks, she is my everything. No joking. My wife is the most important thing to ever happen to me and she is the most important thing in my life.

I would be lost without her. I honestly don't know what I would do without her in my life

I’m alive… So Far…

That, dear J, is one of the reasons I heart you so much.

Well, now I'm on "Next" and you're still alive. Good for you. I read about your motorcycle, poker, and motorcycle together with poker! If you're afraid of losing your wife, you should not have a motorcycle, though...
