Third Try at Posting Photo ...

This is getting old. I can't post a 400kb photo? What's up with that?

TUSCAN HILL TOWN
24" x 18" acrylic on canvas

I can't recall whether this hill town in Tuscany was Montalcino or nearby Montepulciano. It was back in 1992 that I took the photos around there.

TRY THIS:
Quick pizza bread...
Start with the store-bought garlic bread. Put sauce, pepperoni and cheese on it, sometimes chopped mushrooms and black olives, and a little onion. Drizzle with olive oil. Then roast it in the oven. Better than pizza!

I've had that problem sometimes, where it just loads and loads and loads without bringing up the photo, and it's not a problem with the size of the photo file.

The Duomo (Cathedral) has wonderful high-up frescoes painted by Fra Angelico and Luca Signorelli! Must-see them!

I do remember that after having lunch at one of those overpass stops on the Autostrada, we made several stops to sample local wine. Chianti there is spectacular! By late afternoon (coming from Florence toward Roma) we were pretty schnockered, so I drove into Umbria and we binked at a little pensione in Orvieto, a terrific hill town there. Orvieto is right alongside the autostrada and the main rail line and has a train station. The town sits atop a huge flat rock of stone about 500 feet above the valley floor. It has the most grand cathedral of all the hill towns, built in a layer cake of white and black stone with a shimmering gold front. The only problem is that the church is situated in a rather small square and you need a wide angle lens to get a good photo of it. While there you MUST try the local wines! Their white is exported and available here, but the red is rare and named "BIGI." It does not get shipped out. It is memorable.
