This has been a lean holiday season, car maintenance expenses, insurance payments, kitten neuter, etc. At one point for almost two weeks I had to live on less than thirty dollars, and it looks like there would be another spell like that until four or five days after the New Year. I'm good at doing the lean thing. I have gotten used to it. So Monday, Christmas Eve dawned with thoughts about how to get by. I have plenty of cat food thanks to a couple of very good friends with huge hearts and the UPS man/woman. I have heat, electricity and my cable bill is up to date. So I went out on the porch and retrieved my mail. There were two checks from the southern California ad agency that has been giving me lots of work since Labor Day. I am blessed!
