One important obstacle you must overcome on the path toward enlightenment is to break with one's slavery to mythology. Even in Buddhism it exists. They built stupas to 'holy' men, huge structures not unlike the ones crafted in the middle ages in Europe, stone edifices that while beautiful and grand, meant dedicating labor and treasure to myth.
To achieve enlightenment one must break with the idea that you must adore and care more for something you cannot see, prove or touch, instead of adoring and caring for your fellow man (and women) and all living creatures.
This is where I am on that path.
