Mom ...

My 94-year-old Mother, Vera Elizabeth Comer Adams, is slipping. She has been at Autumnwood Care Center since Sept. 2006, and in the Memory Care Center there for two years. For the past couple of weeks I have noticed a daily drop in her energy and stamina. She has been in bed the last four days. They are feeding her and medicating her in her room. She has to have assistance constantly now. What is good is that she has NO pain. She does not want to eat. She can barely hear us anymore. Today we put her in Hospice Care. They will attend to her needs at Autumnwood without a location change. For the next few days, maybe weeks, I will be scarce. Please understand and abide with that. Thank you.

My thoughts are with you. You have had a tough year. If I lived nearby, I'd bring you some pies and casseroles for the freezer and spend a little time with the cats.

On hearing your news, I can be thankful my 94 yr old father is still hanging in there. The time will come. My sympathies, my friend.

It is so hard to loose someone you love. I am so glad she is not in pain.
Be with her as much as you can.

Jon, I am so sorry to hear about your mother. While she has been having some difficulty in the area of health, it is never easy to watch our loved ones as their health continues to fail. I am glad to hear that she is in no pain. That is a wonderful gift. Having HOSPICE there can really help both with everything that she is going through, but can also be a great resource for her family and loved ones. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

It's never "time" in our hearts to say goodbye when we love someone. She had your constant attention and that is priceless. I am sure she knows that. My thoughts are with you.

Oh Jon I am sorry. I know that no matter how old our parents die it still seems WAY to soon. My heart goes out to you and your family.

The time has come.She had a long good life there.We do understand the situation there.
Spend the last days with her.She may not hear you but know that you are there.
