Hobbes ...

Hobbie has developed what I think may be Rhino, a feline disorder. His left eye is leaking fluids and is swelled on the eyelids all around it. He has a nasal drip and sniffles. He is quite listless and doesn't eat. So he goes to the veterinarian today. I am waiting for them to open so I can get an appointment.

I actually found the time to paint about five hours last night. I did it by turning off the TV and disconnecting the telephone.

People still call me on the land line phone. I only have it to get the DSL. I never answer it.

No matter how many time I tell or email folks that they are calling on a 'dead' phone (I give them the cell number) they still call on it.

Same goes for the email addresses. Some people just don't keep up with the changes I made three years ago.

I have to get ready to take Hobbes to an appointment, so.....

Hi, sorry for late read ... have more than 275 e mails and still wading through. I trust Hobbes is better by now.

UPDATE: Hobbie is getting lots of the medicated gooey salve on his eye, and so far it has not improved much, but she said it would take a few days. He is acting pretty 'normal.'

I am so glad Hobbie did not have a live threatening illness. Our pets are
like family members.

Hugs and get well wishes to Hobbes. My phone situation is the opposite of yours: we don't get a cell phone signal up here so I tell people my cell number is like drug dealers - use it and forget it until I give it to them again.

My feeling is this... all my cats are indoor cats and never go out except to the vet in a Sherpa bag. Therefore, they do not require the whole array of shots and inoculations. Ohio law only requires the 3 year Rabies booster and they give you a tag to prove it in case the Ohio animal men-in-black come breaking down your door. The cats have all had the required shots and initially also got the other two. I just can't afford a $400 vet bill every year just for shots.

"Cute vet"? Do you ever read Garfield? I'm beginning to think you and Garfield's Jon are one and the same! He dates a vet!!

Oh no! I would have to get all their shots boosted and it would break the bank account.

Hobbie has conjunctivitis brought on by the HPV feline virus which is indemic and was probably brought active by Quincy constantly wrestling with him. It is stress-related. He also got his Rabies booster shot. I have to load an antibiotic salve around his eye twice a day and give him more Party Mix. That's what the cute Vet said.

Hope Hobbes is doing better by now. I get so upset when my babies are ill.

I am sure Hobbie will come through with flying colors----he heard you have a few extra dollars and instead of spending it on paint and canvases he wanted you to spend it on him!
