Cookbook News ...

Two years in the making... collecting family recipes, browbeating and cajoling relatives to contribute, messing with the hard work of typing and organizing a cookbook, and

VOILA!

THE COMER FAMILY COOKBOOK is done.

The idea came from an uncle who managed to save my grandmother's recipe cards, all hand-written scores of years ago. Some of them I scanned and included.

The contributions were slim, and many relatives just shined me off. But most of the pages are my own recipes and those of my sister, Kathy.

It is available now from my publisher, www.LULU.com.

Go to my own website, and this page: www.jondude.com/enter.htm

It looks like this:

At the top is a grey button. Click on it and it takes you directly to the order page.

Some recipes are from a couple MyBloggers friends, anonymous and a few with attributions.

Putting this book together was more difficult than writing my novels. Way more difficult.

You are right. They will make good Christmas presents. I admire your
stick- to- itiveness and hope they make a lot of money. Now is the
perfect time to get them out.

The project was not to make me any cash. Because it is for family and friends, I priced it as low as I could. The self-publishing does cost a little, but I should be able to defer that

I'm impressed. At my age, however, I don't need anymore cookbooks. Yours IS tempting!

I really like the photo of your grandmother. I solicited recipes for a cookbook from my relatives one time, and got about the same response that you did - something they ripped out of the paper that day and never made, or nothing at all. About what I'd expect from folks who just fry up some mutton with potatoes and onions twice a day and call that cuisine.
