Waiting ...

At the hospital blogging from my phone. Dad's getting a colonoscopy (routine for his age group). This is a wake up call for me. My parents are entering that age that will require more help from us, their children. I'm only glad that I'm close and available to help.

After this, I'm supposed to take a man from our church to the doctor's office for a procedure or treatment of some kimd. I guess I'm playing ambulance today.

Dad's gonna try to do some work after this, against his doctor's recommendation. Shall we say I came by my stubborn streak honestly?

I'm also waiting for this dreadful election process to be over. So sick of the maligning and distortion on both sides. The Republican establishment settled on a lackluster candidate and we all know how I feel about the current (mis)administration.

Well, dad's in recovery. Gotta go.

It is not at all painful and good grief your Dad is a young man not quite
sixty. That is youthful. Just think Fredo and I and Teal have lived twenty
years or more beyond that point and we are still kicking and protesting that
we don't need any help.

I hope he can be that healthy when he's that age, but he has such unhealthy habits.

At least colonoscopies are painless and recovery time short. I don't mind them--that is, unless they discover colon cancer, which I was misdiagnosed as having 10 years ago. Now there's a forgettable experience (traumatic).

They removed three polyps, probably benign. Those misdiagnosis can screw up a person's life. We rode that roller coaster with my brother.

I don't think your dad should be doing any driving once you drop him off. Mr. Tbend had a similar procedure, and they gave him a drug that made him forget the whole thing, and then he let me drive all the way to Las Vegas, and he never lets me drive, so you can see it kills the day.

My dad is so stubborn, he was working three hours later. I tried to talk him out of it, but he wouldn't hear of it. He had two helpers with him.

My doctor that I am at a age (it is great to be old) that a colonoscopy would be a waste of time and money--that if anything was discovered I would probably die from something else!~!!

That's a great peace of mind, no?

Yes, we are fine, thanks, Fredo. We are enjoying cooler temperatures! I'm interpreting a wedding this weekend from English to Spanish in Texas.
