Yesterday was a uniquely satisfying experience. Most of you are going to gag when I tell you what I did and why it was so satisfying. I mowed and picked up debri and cleaned a gutter and washed the car. It was satisfying because, for the first time in my life, I was able to do those things in a house and yard of my own. It was a Saturday spent working at home, something for which I have long envied other people. It was a semblance of normalcy!
Tomorrow, if I can get my ducks in a row, I'd like to try planting a small garden. I've been reassured by several people that it's still not too late to plant. Jenn and I love fresh veggies and they are so expensive at the store these days. This Oklahoma red earth should be pretty good for growing things, so I'm told.
In other news, I've been trying to read new people on MyBloggers these days, my little show of support for our little community. One guy hasn't written yet, but he always seems to have been online just shortly before I get online. I wonder what he does here, if he's not interested in writing anything. Maybe he signed up just to read.
I've been spending more time with my aunts and uncles on my dad's side of the family lately. It's a really good family and I love them all. There's just so much to be learned from our forebears.
Temperatures have been in the high 80's and our air conditioner is still broken. The repairman I've been calling since Monday (May 23rd) was supposed to go to the house on Saturday. Well, it's Sunday and he still hasn't called or stopped by. Bad business practices.....blech!! Tomorrow is a holiday and I doubt anyone will want to work on it. Poor Jennifer just has to work a little while and rest a while.
