Prediction

For the first two years of his presidency, Barak Obama blamed President George Bush for everything that was wrong with the country. My prediction is that for the last two years of his presidency, Obama will blame Congress for everything that went wrong while he was president. How he can pretend that he's above the fray there in Washington is beyond me. He plays the game with the best of them. He could have never made it this far in politics without it. If I could fill up the rest of this page with "thumbsdown" I would.

I just put an article on my blog that I think you may like

This is the first I've heard about your newborn! Congrats! Where have I been? One thing I learned in "The Social Animal" (see my post) is we're "hardwired" to becoming liberal or conservatives. I can't change you and you can't change me. I still wonder about those in between!

The baby is adorable. I am a liberal and I think the Republican agenda is
wrong but we are all Americans and the tea party that would not bend
almost brought us to ruin. They saved nine million on the FAA and ended
up losing more millions in revenue than they saved something like 33 million before Obama and the Senate stepped in. I am disappointed that
he is not a stronger President but he did all the compromising. Still friends? I hope so.

PS: That's not my baby. Ours is a girl. I just found this little guy on Google.

Most definitely still friends! In fact, I've got a loaf of buttermilk bread for you in the oven as I write. It needs about five more minutes. See you soon!

You accused me of bias in my view of those who do not agree with me. So, yes, I find that offensive. You got angry too -- does that make you irrational? As for those who elected the tea party legislators, I think they are feeling buyer's remorse.

What we seem to have, among our politicians...and the people on this site...is a failure to communicate. I find it sad that our country has become so divided that conservatives hate liberals and liberals hate conservatives. We are all Americans, and we all have a huge vested interest in getting along and working to solve the huge problems we have right now. It is, however, going to take some give and take on both sides. Most recently, I have not seen the Republicans giving an inch on anything. It seems to Obama doing all the giving.

Obama offered Boehner a 4.2 million dollar deal that involved cuts and tax increases. That was what S & P wanted. He got up and walked out. What we ultimately ended up with was a weakened down version that puts NO additional tax or the wealthy and hits the Middle and lower class only. That's a Republican agenda...not a Democratic one.

The hatred makes me sad as well and I really believe it is these politicians who are aggravating the situation. I will say however that if the tea partiers are responsible for part of the impasse, it's only because they were doing what they were voted to do there by their constituents. Do you mean to imply by your last remark that the Republicans walked away with everything they wanted and the Democrats got nothing. I don't believe that.

Is that your baby?? Cute!

No but thanks for asking. My little baby is a girl and she's cute too! She's 12 days old now.

Love the baby picture.

Isn't that just the cutest thing?

I calls it as I sees it. What news channels do you watch: Fox "news"; talking heads like Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck? I am not a liberal. I am a rational centrist. The operative word is rational: you have a knee-jerk reaction to everything Obama does -- where does that come from? Certainly not from objective analysis. He has faults: his major fault is not going in with both guns drawn when the Republicans publicly (on television for all to hear and see) stated that their primary mission was to make him a one-term president. Is this mantra really a goal that ANY legislator should have? Just "get the other guy" and damn the consequences for he country. And like the "turn the other cheek" mantra that so many of the faithful invoke but rarely follow, he failed in his humanitarian endeavors. I fault him for that. I want him to be angry and militant.

Teal, I'll overlook your obvious insult my intelligence and I will once again overlook your "faithful" slur. However, I would like to point out that "angry and militant" does not describe a rational centrist. Thank you for proving once again that liberals are just as emotionally charged and driven as conservatives are. "Knee jerk" is exactly the term I would use to describe your reaction to my very brief and non-aggressive post. If you disagree with what I wrote, let's talk about that and stop calling me "stupid", in so many words. It's just not very becoming to adult conversation.

The frustrating thing about discussing politics with you liberals is that anyone who doesn't agree with you is labeled as willfully ignorant or uninformed.
comment by jerms on Aug 12, 2011 6:55 AM ()
And Republican Conservatives are better???? Only you label liberals commie socialists
reply by greatmartin on Aug 12, 2011 7:12 AM ()
I know you would and you would be uninformed. After the recent debacle when ultra right wing tea party members nearly brought the country to disaster, total, with world-wide impact, you still believe that it is Obama who is the problem. Woeful. And the fallout in the market is still being felt.
