Today was a blast!
After breakfast in Estes Park, we walked the 3.75 miles around Lake Estes. Then we headed on up to Rocky Mountain National Park.
I'm standing above the "tree line". This high up, the trees don't grow. I'm sure Randy could enlighten us as to the official term used to describe it. It's a very marked delineation here.
And for those of you suffering the heat. This is a snapshot of my console at 1:40pm Mountain Time! We're planning to go back to the park before we leave.
I found this "grass?" growing above the tree line to be very interesting. There seem to be many different kinds of grass and flowers that we do not find in Oklahoma. I could be mistaken, because my knowledge of botany is limited, but I find it interesting.
We finished off the day with a late lunch at that bastion of great American cuisine...Sonic, who, by the way, is headquartered in Oklahoma City.
More later...
