Normal for me is getting up at 5am and focusing on two of the most important activities of my day. Unfortunately, with the move from Mexico and travel and general upheaval, that hasn't been a reality in the last few months. Although I hesitate to say it for fear of "jinxing" my recent streak of discipline, it has been three consecutive days that I've been able to get up at that hour and enjoy those first two hours of the day when there are virtually NO distractions. I love it.
Unrelated to the above, ideas for the house have been coming to me with greater ease these last few weeks. The next project should be the outfitting of the former garage into a den. Some has already sheet-rocked and wired it, but even that needs revision and repair. The extra room will make it possible to finally unpack the rest of our boxes and actually see our beloved books again. (Jenn and I fancy ourselves as readers.)
And further unrelated to the above, I've applied for three jobs with the State of Oklahoma. One is as a Social Services Assistant with the Military Department. I'm under the impression that my responsibilities would include working with families of deployed service-persons. The other two jobs are with the Department of Human Services; one as an HR Specialist and the other as an HR Administrative Assistant. Yesterday, I took the merit assessments for both and passed. This should be interesting.
The weather has been absolutely great lately! Highs in the 80's. Lows in the 50's and 60's. And my two favorite holidays are coming up before we know it. It's all that delicious food! I've already started buying Christmas presents, a first for me for sure!
