How many metal codices have they found? I was under the impression that the codices referenced by John Smith, founder of the Latter Day Saints, could not have existed simply because he said they were metal and early Christians used parchments and leather? This is interesting as heck.

Isn't it interesting? I was wondering about the metal issue as well. As for Joseph Smith, I understand that the leaves mentioned things that couldn't have existed in the time frame they referenced. Who knows...

I'm having trouble with this, but it's not your fault.

I question the use of metal leaves. It doesn't seem to jive with other historical evidence, but I suppose there could be an exception. Or perhaps I don't know as much as I thought I did. Both could be true!!

Yes, it seemed to leave the question of authenticity open, reminds me of the shroud of Turin.

Did you follow the link?

Is that a photo of a Mayan codex? It appears that it has been separated and bound in the Western manner. How did you come by this?

I suppose my presentation was a bit obscure. There is a link attached to the word "this" in my post. I'll clarify that. The link is to an article on Yahoo News about an early manuscript of the Scriptures found about five years ago, only just now being written about.
