I have moaned on more than one occassion about my mother and sisters. Well this post will be no different. The same moan, same mother and the same sisters!






This time the problem is different.... no it's not it's the same problem just another year.



Every year they try to organise a family picnic with me and my kids, my sister, partner and their kids, my other sister and her lad plus my parents. Such a big deal is made about the whole thing and they have this notion that we must drive for hours, have a picnic, do whatever the activity is that we have driven all those hours to see and then drive all those hours home again. All this would be fine if we were let in on the organisation process. Instead they had all been at mum's on Sunday and the plans were made.



What makes this worse is that since the New Year we have been up there 8 out of about 12 weekends since the beginning of January. But they choose the one that we don't go up to decide that the away day will be to a Safari Park, which is a 2 and a half hour drive. A picnic where we take our own food but the intention is to pool the picnics to share the food. There is also a choice of only two weekends as my sisters and co are busy the rest of the holidays. This basically means that we either bite our tongue and change any plans we may have on then or face the bitching and back stabbing from them once again!



What is worse is that we had earmarked the safari park as a trip for my friends and their kids over the summer. In lieu of Christmas gifts we decided that an away day would be a nice idea and saved us buying a gift for a gift sake. I mentioned this on Monday to my mother - who arrived for lunch - and I was told "you'll just have to go twice!" Eh I don't think so. The tone was almost to say that I had a real nerve to even dream of arranging something that didn't include her.



The possible weekends are the 1st and last weekend in July. Well I know for certain that the last weekend we will have birthday parties and the first my sister might not manage depending on if she can get gig tickets or not. so I guess we will not be going. We have missed every trip they have arranged over the past 4 years simply because we are not included on the whole organisation process. But when we are included and get our say we are ignored anyway!



Only time will tell as to how this will be resolved.
