Herman Day 2

So this is what has happened to our yeasty Herman concoction over night..... He is bubbling away like a mad thing and the kids are now starting to turn their noses up at the smell. It is only a matter of time before the "I'm not eating that!"phrase starts to raise it's head. The bubbles are a good thing and I have googled lots of Herman pages and there is so much we can do with him. I am even looking into starting our own Herman so that DD (who is allergic to dairy, wheat and egg) can have her own yeasty friend on the go.

I remember my mother's friend Rusty Mueller talking about her salt rising bread starter, and her kids where complaining that something in the house smelled like dirty socks.

There is no dodgy smell here.... hope that doesn't mean that he won't taste nice when the time comes!!

This was a new one on me:
minging [ˈmɪŋɪŋ]
adj Brit informal
1. ugly, disgusting, or malodorous
2. extremely poor in quality
[originally Scottish, of obscure origin]
