Easter Holiday Roundup

Well after I posted about the sunshine, three days later we woke to 6 inches of snow!! I thought DH was yanking my chain as a lame attempt to get me out of my cosy bed when he raised the snow alarm in our house. Thank goodness the kids were on holiday so I didn't have to traipse them out in that. it was short lived, but so far the warmer weather has failed to return. In fact, snow is once again forecast for tomorrow!!

I realise I haven't given the Herman update either. I forgot to take a photo of the finished Herman but man he tasted mighty fine. That said I was the only one who liked him so if I ever see a Herman again it will be too soon!! LOL

Easter was spent in a wooden wigwam on the West Coast of Scotland, the weather was a bit wet but in between showers the kids loved their time on the beach and at the adventure playpark. As great as Wigwams are we have also bought a tent. More for economy reasons and to broaden our choice of destinations. There are many areas where no wigwams are available for rent and others are a bit on the pricey side for a wooden shed!! I will keep you posted as to how the camping goes and if DH and I are still talking to each other after the first attempt at pitching the tent!! I have also bought a cool folding BBQ to take with us as many sites do not allow campfires and disposable BBQ's can be a bit nasty. All I need now is campfire recipies to keep the diet varied and not just burgers and sausages all the time.

Better go, kids are back at school and getting up, dressed and out of the house by 8.40 am was somewhat of a challenge today *yawn*.

Camping is not my cup of tea; but many love it.

I hate camping but I think I'd like to try a luxury resort.

I may do so soon too!! I am like a kid though, really excited about it all... We laid out the footprint of the rent and DH said it was like a house!!! Think it might be a bit on the big side.. A kids wing and a grown ups wing perhaps

Camping is fun and funner when it's over and you're remembering the good times. Or maybe it was more fun during the planning because nothing bad has happened yet.

I am loving the planning. Looking for nice sites with decent facilities and not some of the rough ones I remember from my younger days!!

Well today it is lashing!! Areas of England have a hosepipe ban already this year. I suggest they bring buckets and come to Scotland and start filling up their reservoirs!!!
