have just finished the most un-putdownable book I have read for a long time.
“Before I Go To Sleep†written by S J Watson is an utterly brilliant debut novel. It should come with a warning though, just like a tube of Pringles….. once you pop you just can’t stop!!
There are even rumblings of a movie in the making!! *squeals in excitement*
The book takes the form of a journal as it is the only way that Christine can make any sense of the world because most of her memories of it disappear every night, whilst she sleeps. Resulting in waking the following morning in a state of confusion. I am not the swiftest of readers (usually) but did find that “just a few more pages†was my philosophy when I really had to get on with things at home.
I found that my mind tried to predict what was going to happen and was often proven wrong with what it had thought. Keeps you guessing right to the last page. This is a difficult book to try and put my thoughts down about as it is so well written that to say anything is to say too much!! All I can really say is that if you enjoy psychological thrillers then give this book a go.
