Glad to see that you are recovering. Do you ever get flu shots? I got them regularly when I was working because I had to deal with so many people. I got the H1N1 vaccine last year and did get sick. I haven't decided what I should do this year.
We've just had visitors for the weekend, so I was busy doing the extra cleaning before they arrived. It was the two guys who we went with to Barcelona, so I cooked a paella with scallops, prawns and spicy sausage last night for dinner and we drank some cave (Spanish sparkling wine) that they bought with them. Tonight we'll be eating the left-overs.
I'm sure you'll adjust to working again although it may never be your favourite activity. Plus you'll have the added challenge of learning all the new patients/residents' names. Sorry to hear that Shawnee is still experiencing incontinent problems. I've heard there is a pill that sometimes help. Our friends who recently got a golden retriever puppy have learned that her plumbing is amiss. She never completely empties her bladder, so has ongoing leaks in the house. They've been told that either she will outgrow the problem or it will be on-going. Yikes!!!!!
It looks like he is eating a cookie or cracker in the picture - no Cheerios in sight. He really is a cute little fellow.
Thank you for confirming my childless state. No birthday parties and minimal exposure to other people's bra.... No really I love the little bug....s
Your method is what I call "home-made". I don't think I've done the cooking a whole pumpkin approach since the 70s. My pie was courtesy of Ed Smith and Tenderflake.
I've had a sore shoulder since playing golf in early September. And earlier in the summer I had rakers elbow. My doctor referred me to a physiotherapist, so I'm hoping that helps. Maybe you need some therapy for your thumb?
Yesterday we had a yummy turkey dinner with friends. I brought the pumpkin pie (homemade of course) and the whipped cream. Today I am busy making our own Thanksgiving dinner - a small turkey for two of us. We may be eating leftovers for awhile. HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you all!
Too bad you were sick during part of your vacation. I hate it when that happens. I imagine that you know all the knitting shops on Vancouver Island by now. Did you know there are alpacas and llamas on our island as well? Apparently they are also used to protect the sheep. I've been to the Sea Cidery as well for their sample tasting because I love cider and its one of the few alcohol beverages that I can drink without getting a headache. My favourites are the dry varieties. There is another cidery just south of Duncan that I've been to but not recently. Sounds like you found a very nice B&B in Sidney with great breakfasts.
Congrats! Good photo but are you wearing sunglasses to hide from your fans?
The doggy bag looks even better in real life and so far the source (my dog) hasn't tried to attack it. Of course, the fact that it doesn't smell like dog helps as well. Love my gift
Sounds like the three of you had a great weekend. I wonder where the button lady was from since we have a good one here on the island. I'm not surprised to see that you made your share of purchases at the fibre fair.
Have a wonderful time at the Fair/Exhibit and I look forward to reading about it all after the weekend. Mum certainly enjoyed our Fall Fair two weeks ago and I think she got a kick out of seeing the Fibre Arts trophy with her name on it multiple times.
We have the fake wasp nests hung all over the place to discourage nests. I swell up like a balloon, except harder, when I'm stung, so I'm totally paranoid when they are active (all of August and most of September). Yuck!
Hope your thumb/wrist problem is temporary and doesn't require a new knitting technique.
Nice car I guess you've got your Christmas present and next year's birthday present early. Are you enjoying your new set of wheels? But wait until you see the first set of sticky grandchild prints, then it will really feel like its yours.
Good pics. Fireworks aren't easy to photograph and you've done a good job here. I know what you mean about consoling. Tartan is okay with the noise but fireworks use to scare Teddy and he'd shake until it was all over. Poor fellow!
