Wow! This is imaginative, funny, serious and a wonderful read! I thoroughly enjoyed myself here! Glad to have you back, Sunni! By the way, I must be a figment of your imagination, because I REMEMBER all of those things that you say never existed! (AND I can attest to your assertion that nobody ever actually watched movies while sitting (or lying in) those darkened automobiles at the drive-ins!. I'm so happy to have you here again!!!!
Isn't it amazing what we allow ourselves to believe when we don't want to know the truth? Back then and today, folks knew and know that smoking was unhealthy, but they chose to believe otherwise.
Sounds like my brother.
Can you hold off a week to see if Bunji comes around? Lots of stress to deal with! Or, As Elfie commented, it could be a urinary infection too. Mary and I put up with our Simba peeing everywhere for about a month. When she finally peed on our bed, that was it! We were bound and determined to get rid of the cat. Then, somebody suggested that the cat may have a urinary infection. So Mary took her to the vet. Sure enough - urinary infection. A couple of sulfur pills, and Simba has been a perfect little lady ever since.
My son lives in Seattle and has experienced a few of these. He says that he moved away from the New England because of the hurricanes. My response to that is, at least with huuicanes, you have a few days' warning! (I never experienced an earthquake. I can just imagine how frightening they must be!)
I've used all of these! (Particularly #2!)
Being an ex-altar boy myself, I understand Joey's feelings COMPLETELY!
Maybe Clyde just needs a chance to get aclimated to his new surroundings. Maybe then he'll start wagging his tail more. I sure hope so.
Red yeast rice. I'm going to give that a try. My cholesterol is, at times, "borderline", just like everything else in my life. My wife takes glucosamine for her knees. (She used to be a cheerleader. Knees weren't meant to take that abuse!) She swears by the stuff. I also have an eight-year-old German Shepherd with bad hips. After being on glucosamine for two years now, she is running all over the pastures like a pup.
Here's your sign!
You put tears in my eyes when I read this! I am SO SORRY for your sorrow! Whether the babies were six hours, six weeks or six years old doesn't make any difference at all! What makes the difference is that you LOVED them. A therapist once told me that feelings don't have to make any sense to anybody else as long as they make sense to you. She also said that feelings are neither right nor wrong; they just are. You are one special woman, Dawnie, to love so deeply! What a special gift you have! Feel the grief as you feel the love. It is all part of the human experience. I wish I was there to punch some of those folks around you right in the face!
Universal one-ness is such an interesting concept! There was once a Star Trek episode, (the ORIGINAL Star Trek) where they found a race of beings who had shed their bodies and merged into one consciousness. Their response to seeing individuals with separate bodies was, "How lonely you must be!"
If you give her an inch, she thinks she a ruler.
I know your feelings! I really like my job, but, never in all my years of working full time (Since 1978) have I ever linked who I am to what I do for a living. (I was a school teacher, and now I'm a salesman in my own business, and I'm also a free-lance writer.) If I didn't have to work, I'd be at home with my wife and my horses, playing with my grand kids, skiing, sailing, writing...I can think of a THOUSAND ways to spend my time!
I HATE long days! The beauty about getting older is that you no longer have to have them. (As a matter of fact, when you hit a certain age, almost NOTHING is long any more!) Any luck with Sounds Like Angels Singing?
I'm so happy to have you here again!!!!
