Treasure or Trash

Well I have figured out what my next day’s off project is going to be.
I live in a small 2-bed room home. And while quite cozy it is somewhat lacking in storage.
My 2nd bedroom is not now or has it ever been a bedroom. It is a storage room and it has stuff in there that has not seen the light of day since it was put there. I am sure there was at some time a sense of organization in my mind. Now there is piles, just piles.
I went in there yesterday and all I could do was stand and stare.
The hard part about cleaning the room is going be trying to figure what is treasure and what is trash. I mean at one time it was all treasure but there is stuff I haven’t used for-well years.
I guess I will use the one-year rule. A lot of the stuff in there was kept because “ I might need it some day.” If I haven’t found a need for it in the last year out it goes. Well that’s the plan.
I am sure this going to be an emotional day. After all how can I get rid of a stuffed Santa that sings and farts? That’s got to be treasure right?

You could keep something for five years. Then just as soon as you get rid of it, you NEED it. That's happened to me every time!!

Seems to me you could have a MyBloggers auction for the Santa. Does he wiggle his butt too? That would bring big bucks! I'm getting better at tossing things too. I realized that if all I do is look at and think "I could do something with that," it goes. I've got a garage full of things "I could do something with" to take to the Salvation Army.

yep, it's time to start cleaning it out. The dawgnurse and I might get the gang and bring em to you house for a sleep over barbecue. Lots of girlie movie. ( as in Dr. Zhivago, Gone with the Wind, etc.) It'll be great.

oh denfinitly keep the Santa...ya just never know when that will come in handy. I have the same problem, grump. A coupla months ago I went on a "de-crapifying" jag and cleaned out my closet. Now I have room for more crap.

Okay, here's the deal -- and that was hard for me as well -- if you haven't used it in a year, get rid of it. I've had to do that as well. I'm a lot better at taking things to Salvation Army than I used to be!

Yard Sale!! A farting Santa would bring big bucks here in the hills.

you are so funny...
Sounds like quite a task that you have before you!
Can you send me the santa?

Be tough, Grumpy, be tough. If you don't tear up when you see it, throw it out.

thats how our spare bedroom was too! you couldn't even walk in it. so we rented a dumpster and threw most of it out!
