Heroes

I was was playing internet last night and found this song and boy did it bring back a bunch of memories.
Some times in our rush we forget what heroes are really for. We try to tear them down and make them human just like us. In the process we forget they are human just like us. They are just common men and women put in uncommon situations.
Their legacy is not just the brave acts they did, the words they said or how they died.
They made us believe. When we saw or heard these men and women we knew that we could be better than what we were or even what we now are.
They shared dreams that became our dreams and asked for our help and we gave it. They somehow reached inside us and made us want to be a part of something bigger than ourselves.
One of the greatest blessings God has given us, this land, is heroes when we need them. Men and women who make the future bright and not to feared.
Ronald Reagan was last of that breed who visited us. I wish there was one out there now.

Throughout history, there have always been the few men and women that have stepped up, and accepted the challenge. Who is next?

This may sound silly, but I really like Tyra Banks - she was a model who gained weight - she is AVERAGE size - but the media was mercilessly making fun of her. She stood up to them and essentially said Whatever. I love me exactly how I am! And now she has a talk show where she flaunts her beautiful self every day. I think that's rather heroic in this day in age of the stick figures...

Hey Grumpy!
This song is incredible. It had such a huge effect on me that I remember the very first time I heard it. Dion sang in on the old Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour.
I remember that it put a lump in my throat.
