Wow! the Packard Car Museum!

The last thing ANYONE would expect of me is see me going nuts over cars and old cars at that!!!  Having lived in Fort Lauderdale now for 30 years I never knew this place existed and so near to me. At the general meeting at Gateway last week someone suggested a trip to the Fort Lauderdale Antique Car Museum which is a salute to over 32 Packards from 1901 to 1959.
All
I know about old cars is that Bill has two Fords from the 1920s that he
has restored (and the first picture is for him) and takes to shows and
parades plus Allen is a sucker for old cars so I suggested we go.

I was in awe of so many of the cars and wanted a few!!! There was a doctor's car, a flower car, convertibles , sedans along with such memorabilia as dashboard clocks, cigarette lighters, a fire engine, uncountable hood ornaments, side mirrors and lamps

There
is a two hour film telling the whole history of Packards until the day
they became 'PackardBakers' and eventually went bankrupt--no, the
government didn't bail them out.

Aside from all the Packard cars there is a beautiful wood bar, a special
room dedicated to Franklin Delano Roosevelt, rooms for corporate
functions, fundraisers, private parties, special events, wedding, etc.
I wonder if I might not think of this as a place for me 19th Leap Year
birthday party IF I start saving my pennies now!

Following are just a few of the pictures I took--I highly recommend a trip to the museum if you are ever in the area.

AND THEN THERE WAS THIS SIGN
