I will be the first to admit that I ramble a lot when I write which is
why I need(ed) an editor for my books. I would write 130,000 words,
which isn’t easy, and after my editor got finished it would be 90,000
words making the book, the characters and the flow better.
“Show
Me” is what Eliza Doolittle sang in Lerner & Lowe’s “My Fair Lady”,
the musical based on George Bernard Shaw’s “Pygmalion”. She got tired,
fed up with, hearing Freddy talking and wanted to be grabbed and kissed
just as blog readers want the blogger to get to the subject, say what
they want/have to say without a lot of extraneous words and thoughts.
There
are bloggers who go on and on and on, over and over again about the
same subject blog after blog that it reaches a point the reader can
write the blog.
I don’t recall where I read it but a very
thorough study was done that concluded that a blog shouldn’t run over
500 words because in today’s society people don’t have/won’t make the
time to read more and, in fact, seeing a long blog will just not read it
though they might leave a generic comment--read the last
paragraph!--and know what will be acceptable. Also most people will not
look at a video if it is more than 2 minutes. Remember, we live in a
world of twitter and text messages.
Do you have any idea what 500
words look like in a blog? How many words do you think are in this blog
at this point? Wrong--up to the question mark are 277 words.
In a
change of routine I have decided instead of typing directly on the blog
page I would do the blog first on Word and do my best to say what I
have/want to say in 500 words or less and this is my first attempt.
(331 words including title.)
We say what we want to say right. If your telling me one things or another and do not agree and that where I come in.Do not see this any problems as we all have our own taste in things also in life.
Just saying. If I was going to pick on you and you will know it.
As stated (kidding)that is where the fun comes in.
Sorry, that you feel this way about the matter. But do not.REally.
