1) "Mafia Mamma"--Gateway Theatre--1 hour & 55 minutes--Synopsis: a suburban American woman inherits her grandfather's Mafia empire in Italy--I have never seen Toni Collette give a bad performance and here she lets her silly, ridiculous and sexy side show--this movie has too many gross, cover your eyes scenes, violent scenes, too many characters and an ending you partially don't want--FOR TONI COLLETTE FANS ONLY!

2) "Chevalier"--Gateway Theatre--2 hours--Synopsis: true story of composer Joseph Bologne, Chavelier de Saint Georges, the illegitimate son of an African slave and a French plantation owner who rises to heights in society as a composer before as ill-fated love affair--last 15 minutes very moving and, almost, makes up for the rest of the movie--I THINK IT WILL BE MUCH BETTER WITH CLOSED CAPTION--WORTH SEEING JUST TO KNOW ABOUT THE MAN!

On network television:

3) "Will Trent"--ABC--Tuesday @ 10 PM EST--Synopsis: Will Trent was abandoned at birth and endured a harsh coming of age--he is now a Special Agent with the highest clearing and the cutest dog--Ramon Rodriguez is excellent as Will as is his off-beat 'romance' with Erika Christensen and the rest of the cast--just renewed for a second season--THIS CAUGHT ME WITH THE FIRST EPISODE--INTERESTING!


Streaming shows:

4) "The Power"--Amazon Prime--Sci-fi series--season 1--6 episodes--5 hours & 28 minutes--Synopsis: teenage girls develop a special power to electrocute people at will with a new organ in their body and soon learn how to transfer this power to other women--men want to stop women from having this power and/or control of their own body--with Toni Collette and John Leguizano--I AM NOT INTO SCI-FI BUT THIS GRABBED ME FROM THE BEGINNING! WAITING FOR SEASON!

5) "The Night Agent"--Netflix--series--10 episodes--8 hours& 16 minutes--Synopsis: while monitoring an emergency phone line a vigilant FBI agent answers a call that plunges him into a deadly conspiracy involving a mole in the White House--the two leads, Lucianne Buchanan & Gabriel Basso, have great chemistry and make you care for them--THEY MAKE IT MORE THAN A MYSTERY--A MUST SEE!

6) "A Tourist's Guide to Love"--Netflix--Movie--1 hour & 34 minutes--Synopsis: work brings an American traveler executive to Vietnam--boy meets girl--girl lies to boy--boy finds out--they part--and if you don't know how this ends you need a lesson in Hollywood films--RACHAEL LEIGH COOK & SCOTT LY HAVE THE NECESSARY CHEMISTRY TO MAKE YOU 'BELIEVE' & VIETNAM THE SCENERY TO HOLD YOUR INTEREST--I LOVED IT BUT THEN I'M A SUCKER FOR THESE TYPE OF MOVIES!

7) "Close To Home: Murder in the Coalfield"--Netflix--German crime series--6 episodes 4 hours & 29 minutes--Synopsis: Detective Maik Briegand comes back to his hometown finds his own past traumas--another mystery that could have been better if cut about 90 minutes--IF YOU LIKE MYSTERIES THIS IS FOR YOU!

8) "The Descendants"--Amazon Prime--2011 Movie--1 hour & 55 minutes--Synopsis: a man is in search of himself, his kids, his wife, his life--this is a rare George Clooney movie that I missed when it came out in movie theatres--it is a good movie but too much to be a great movie adding unnecessary characters--ONE OF GEORGE CLOONEY'S BEST PERFORMANCES AND ONE OF SHAILENE WOODLEY'S FIRST STEP TO STARDOM!
