Ronaldo is a gay icon
Manchester United midfielder Cristiano Ronaldo is adored worldwide for his great ball skills.
Now he has received accolades for his talent outside of football.
An online survey of 3,000 gay men voted the Portuguese super-star the ultimate gay icon.
The award was handed out by GayGoldDiggers.uk.com, which is a dating website for the more affluent male.
The skilled winger received stiff competition from celebrities such
as Elton John, Kylie Minogue and fellow United team-mate, David
Beckham.
Kylie could only manage a second-place finish, while Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli predictably made the top five.
A spokesperson for GayGoldDiggers.com said “Ronaldo’s ripped body,
slicked-back hair, shiny white teeth and jewellery swung the votes his
way.
"He looks like any gay man or woman’s dream.
"What with being Footballer of the Year, scoring 42 goals last
season and former girlfriends saying he is talented off the pitch, he
seems to have everything going for him.”
This has surely been Ronaldo's first score of the season and will look to retain the title when the survey is held next year.
David Beckham may also seek to improve on a disappointing seventh.
