I Talked to My Primary Doctor!

Before he even said anything my primary doc handed me this article from the NY Times, Sunday, February 13, 2022, Styles Section and told me to read it--

https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/12/style/segmented-sleep.html

Let me explain---the week before I had gone to his office to give blood for my quarterly physical which included ALL tests and I had brought with me a list of close to 20 questions regarding what was going on since November 12 including one about changing my cardiologist and going back to the one who had put the aorta valve in my heart in 2008. I, also, had a list of medicines that I was taking and completely confusing me as 3 different doctors had 3 different ideas of which I should be taking!

I don't know how the Aetna insurance company will react to one of their doctors staying with a patient for an hour and forty minutes but did and answered almost all of my questions---I say almost because he couldn't answer the one about my 'infected' blood which will have to be answered by the infectious disease doctor on Wednesday!

My primary went over ALL the tests and said I was no more even pre-diabetic showings--my cholesterol on all levels was exactly where it should be, etc., etc., that were only 2---well 3-- things that could explain my fatigue, loss of energy and that was 1) I was a bit anemic which could be 'fixed' with a Vitamin B complex, cutting out coffee and tea, and increasing foods containing iron like liver, etc., 2) needed to change my routine 3) I need to read the article again and again and 4) ACCEPT THE FACT THAT I AM OLD!! I don't have to act old or even be old---he said I should just look at the 300 senior citizens I live around--nodding off and looking completely rested a minute later--having their 4 PM naps--getting their life going all day and, usually, disappearing as the sun goes down or they sleep all day so they can stay awake at night and 'party'!

He went over each of my questions and gave me answers to each one except the 'bad blood' because he hadn't tested for that or something. He gave me a complete list of my meds--which I needed and why and which I could stop taking. He agreed that if I wanted to go back to my old cardiologist I should do it sooner than later---he had nothing bad to say about this cardiologist but he expressed how important it was for me to feel/get in sync with all and any of my doctors!

Was it a snow job? Didn't he have any other patients? I don't know--don't care! All I know is I felt he answered my questions---except the one about 'bad blood'--took the time to talk about everything I was concerned about--and I suppose I can get used to naps, nodding off and a less active schedule and even being OLD but I don't want to give up eating out and going to the movies!!

Any thoughts????

I just had my quarterly blood work and piss text too. My sodium and potassium are now up into the barely normal range but this time, my magnesium is low. Primary says, "I suppose you don't want another pill?" Nice when these guys can answer our questions and their own questions as well.

He probably lost money not getting that kickback for another pill---cynical? Who me?
At least I get the Vitamin B complex free!
