After today's movie Allen and I decided to go for a snack at Offerdahl's only to get there and find out that they has closed for good on
Wednesday. I don't know if the whole chain has called it quits but this
is just one of many restaurants that have gone. In the past we have
lost Steak and Ale, Bennigan's, Houston's, Fuddruckers and Lone Star just to mention a few. I think by the end of summer, if
not before, there will be many more restaurants closing while many will
be offering specials that will bring people in but not enough money to
pay the overhead and keep them going until, if, 'season' gets here.

I stared a new group that I would like to invite
you to--I will be putting up a post tomorrow--there were a few kinks
in  the site yesterday and today but they have all been worked out so

When
I got home I decided to call my bank and check out my balance because I
heard that the stimulus check had been or was being sent out. Yes! I
got mine! I would really like to get a DVD/VHS player/recorder and hire
the 'Geek Squad' to connect it and show me how it works. Unfortunately
it will/would cost more than $250 and, besides, I do have to reimburse
Cookie some money for that whole oil and water thing I did.

Staying
in tomorrow to get caught up on some things I have been putting off
doing but I will find some time to go swimming, read a few magazines
and get some sun. Also have to do some research on myprocedure coming up.

Next
week 4-5 new movies are opening up that I want to see but "Angels and
Demons" head the list--hope it is as good as I expect!! Still want to
see "Valentino: The Last Emperor" that also opened today--might make it
Monday or Tuesday.
