At
8:10 PM this evening the conducter will raise his baton and the magic
of the road company of "West Side Story" will start the opening at the
Broward Performing Arts Center and I probably won't breath until the show ends about 3 hours later.

"West Side Story" is my second favorite musical of all time. The
last time I saw a production was in February, 2004, for my 17th Leap
Year birthday, at the 26th Street Theatre with Chuck, Bob, Jim and Gino
and it was an excellent production on a much smaller stage.

These
are scenes from the touring company presented by Broadway Across
America. Just looking at the pictures I can hear/see "America", "I Feel
Pretty", "Somewhere", "Tonight", "The Dance At The Gym", "Maria", "A Boy
Like That" and Bernstein's great score.
