If it's
Wednesday, around 2 PM, Martin and Allen must be having lunch and then
going on Martin's errands like picking up the City Link and New Times
alternate papers, picking up prescriptions and buying the winning lotto
and/or powerball tickets.
Thursday 1 PM? I am doing my weekly food shopping going to the Dollar
Tree store, Publix and
Winn-Dixie. Friday afternoon? At a movie and sometimes Tuesday also.
Some people call it being in a routine, some call it being in a rut but
for a guy like me who lived a pretty disorganized life I am loving
routine, being in a rut.
Okay, so I am boring and he falls asleep on
me---KIDDING!--I really look forward to spending Wednesday afternoons
with Allen. Whether we go to a new restauarnt, or one we've been to
before, and go to a museum to see an art exhibit or a car museum or just
run to a Target, Best Buy, Office Depot, whatever it is fun to be with
and talk to Allen. We not only solve the world problems but any problems
we might have.
This afternoon we
went to the Lauderdale Grill, which just a couple of months ago was another new restaurant we
had tried and though I will be reviewing it later for viewpoints let'a just say I have a feeling we
will be eating in a new restaurant at the same location in a few
months.
Allen needed to get some batteries and since
we were across the street from The Dollar Tree I suggested we go there.
He got batteries and I bought another finger peeler--don't laugh, I love
them! There was an incident at the cashier's with an old woman trying
to cause trouble for the cashier--I really think she was trying to get
her fired but I kept telling the manager it was my fault only making the
old lady madder! I understood the frustration of the cashier and I kept
telling her not to pay attention and just keep quiet as you should do
with anyone ranting. I will be going there
tomorrow---hey, routine--it's Thursday!--and, hopefully, the cashier
will still be working there. I really wish people would take their meds!! :O)
What do you know?
The Cold Stone Creamery is just around the corner from the Dollar Tree
which was just across the street from the Lauderdale Grill--funny how things
(plans) work out. After I had my one scoop of white chocolate ice cream
with white chocolate chips and Allen had his two scoops (I feel so
virtuous!!!) we went on our way.
Before we went to lunch I showed Allen Edie's
Cadillac and I was surprised to see that she had filled up the gas tank
as I told her I would on Thursday but that's the kind of lady she is. I
am going to check when she is due for an oil change and have it done.
We did reverse procedure this week as we
usually get the papers and the lotto tickets last--see, who says we are
in a rut?!--and got them before going to lunch so after Cold Stone Allen
took me home.
Life can never be
routine with the way big companies are run today. I was expecting a
package fro FedEx and they delivered it 3 times between 1 & 3 PM
when I am not home. I called the company and they said, "...because it
requires your signature we can not leave it at your door or at the
Gateway office." I told them I would stay home all day Saturday and they
could deliver it then. I don't think you would be surprised to hear
when I Allen dropped me off, and I went upstairs, I found a message on
my answering machine from Babs saying she had a package for me!!! LOL
To end the
'routine' day there was no way I could connect the scanning machine that
I got in the package--I'll have to explain some day what that is all
about as it is a way to get free restaurant meals, DVDs, movie tickets,
etc. and I am now waiting for a call back from the scanning company!!!
Routine? In a rut? I wish you the same and
that you could look forward to lunch with Allen as I do!!!
