Having
spent almost 40 hours in a hospital gown and not going out of my
apartment, not even to throw out the garbage, I had to get out today!!
Allen
mentioned having seen the movie "Extract" the weekend before last, and
enjoying it, so I decided I would walk up to the Gateway Theatre to see
it as I couldn't get a ride. Now taking a walk may not sound like much
to you, and it is less than a mile, but with my having peripheral artery deficiency and claudification of my legs 'taking' a walk isn't that easy, but, and here I am patting
myself on the back, I did it and I walked back after. (See my review of
the movie in next blog.)
It
had rained while I was in the theatre but stopped just before I got out
and then didn't start again until I got home and was, basically, what
is called a sun shower. The sun and the wetness from the rain made
everything look new and bright, sparkling and I felt alive!!
I
spent time on the breezeway with Dot, Caroline, John and Ina then came
home to relax. Tonight they have Barbra Streisand night on TCM while on NBC they are showing the finalists of "America Got Talent and on ABC "Dreamgirls"--having seen Dreamgirls at least 15 times and having the DVD and a DVD to play it, not to
mention having seen all of Streisand's movies numerous times I decided
to watch America Got Talent.
And
to end a good day I plan to cut up and eat the pineapple I bought last
Thursday--I took one slice and it is so sweet that there is no doubt I
will be eating the whole pineapple tonight!!
