Without giving anything away the broken nuts in the picture have to do with the movie and what motivates a lot of the script.
I
went to see "Extract" as Allen mentioned he had seen it the weekend
before, and had enjoyed it, so I decided to give it a look see. I don't
think I liked it as much as he did but it was pleasant enough. It is
one of those trivial movies that you can wait to see on DVD as it
doesn't call for a 'movie experience'.
The cast does a fine job with Jason Bateman playing the man he has already perfected in Arrested Development, the Everyman put upon by all those around him. Mila Kunis is new to me, very attractive, and plays a grifter quite convincingly. J.K. Simmons is competent as always while Kristen Wiig, new to me, plays a wife like every other bringing nothing new to the role.
Dustin Milligan, as a dumb, out of it gigolo, David Koechner as the neighbor from Hell and and an actress, I didn't catch her name,
who plays a factory worker are all so annoying, as they should be, you
want to slap them.
Ben Affleck,
playing the hippie, druggie, bartender, best friend is a star doing a
secondary role quite good and Clifton Collins Jr. who just wants to get
by in life fills his role to a 't'.
As I said this can wait to be seen on DVD--it's not good, it's not bad--just another picture.
