I don't know how, when, why I became fascinated with Mother Nature---going to the 'country' aka Lake Hiawatha and seeing the Chrysanthemums in bloom in Spring in the front of the house? Seeing and swimming in a lake? Or maybe it was the pine tree in the small garden in front of the Bronx home? Could it have been when I was 10(?) and the family took a train trip to Miami Beach and I saw all the wild Bird of Paradise plants growing in and around and the city?
Actually it doesn't matter when, only that it has been an important part of my life, even today, with the 20 indoor plants I have, Karen Bay and the canals that are everywhere I look when I walk around plus the various lizards, birds, manatees, trees, butterflies, clouds, blue skies, rainy days and everything and anything else that Mother Nature wants to show me.
I can never understand how anyone can be bored when we are surprised 24/7/365 (and 366 days every 4 years) by something so simple as watching a squirrel foraging for food.
