Mother Nature certainly has been playing
havoc with South Florida the past 6 months. First of all we had the
coldest winter ever but added to that have been winds gusting from 15-25
miles an hour and it has been very easy to see why/how the breezeway
has gotten its name. Due to wind and/or cold we have aborted some of our
'jam' sessions or end them early. "The Meeting of the Mindless", as
John calls us, are still waiting for South Florida weather to get here
and if we ever complain about the heat and humidity just say
"winter/spring" to us!
Don't tell him I
said so but he is a master at woodwork. From putting 2 simple shelves up
on my window sill to making the frame for Larry's bed he truly does
amazing work and takes pride in what he does. He is also responsible for
many of the sets for the annual Christmas Pagent at the First Baptist
church.
Just recently he decide to get a
fish tank and, what seemed like an hour, he built a great stand for the
aquarium with even a step up to be able to access the tank better. Wish I
could get the picture bigger but is certainly gives you a good idea of
what he has accomplished.
Larry's neighbor, Mary Lou, seems to have a
natural green thumb. In front of her living room windows is a small plot
of land that she makes a gem of decorations for every holiday and in
between grows orchids and has colorful potted plants that burst the
whole area into a blaze of color.
The talent at Gateway, where I live, is
endless--now if we can only get someone to stop the wind BEFORE
hurricane season starts up!
