We had Summer before Spring!!! The first 3 months of the year we set a record of days with temperatures over 80 degrees--some days we hit 90+! We were also pretty dry as far as rain goes with lawns turning brown and local politicians worrying about what to do in case of a drought! And then MONDAY came. It was the first rainy day in a long time but wasn't anything special but Tuesday the rain was coming a little stronger and heavier with 1-2 inches an hour and then today hit!
Within 4 hours we had 13.2 inches of rain, flood warnings, tunnel clouds with possible tornados, 30+ miles per hour winds and telephone alerts every half hour. Now, at 6:30 PM it is starting to calm down but Bette Davis, our local weather person says the rain will come again tomorrow but---and she used the word hopefully---hopefully not as much.
TV pictures are showing cars on I-95 going extremely slow because the rain is so heavy drivers can't see cars in front of them while other drivers (aka idiots) are flooding their cars and getting stuck on city streets by racing through flooded streets.
The weather report for the next 5 days is a 50% chance of rain--guess Mother Nature decided IT IS the 'rainy season'! And we only had 3 days of winter--who says there is no such thing as 'climate change'?!?!?
