Mother Nature in and Out Doors! Part 3 Indoors

In one form or another I have always had nature indoors--at one time, in other places I have lived, I have had over 50 plants, hanging or otherwise, along with dogs and/or fish tanks--now I am down to birds and a few plants because the tiels love the latter and tear them to shreds!!!

On my window sill--3 sweet potato plants--each at a different stage--hopefully I will soon be able to frame the windows with them when the vines grow long enough.

These are two violet plants that I have had for over 20 years--they are constantly in bloom!

It was 6 years ago that I walked into a bird shop and bought my first 2 birds--budgies--you know them as parakeets--Butch and Sky--Sky died last year and now I am trying to mate Butch with Spitfire.

Cassie and Lola who eat my plants, poop all over (including on me) love to nip at my toes and ears!!!

Mother Nature at work--this was taken 5 years ago with Jill's first, and successful, attempt at breeding her budgies--one of these are Spitfire!!

One of the 7 Hyacinth macaws at Clive's bird shop--look at the pictures on this page of the birds--and tell me Mother Nature doesn't know what's she doing!!!

Now go outside and see what you are missing!!!

I love birds. I'd love to have a cockatu. I went to a pet shop a few years back and they had babies who were had raised. I got to hold one and she cuddled with me! They're so wonderful! Meanwhile, 3 dogs and a cat says maybe later. I intend to have a bird soon.

martin I cannot grow violets at all! I even bought the special pots so I didn't over water. they would live for a while, but never bloomed. so now I stick to just green plants inside. love the birds!
