Morning Glory--a Movie Review



Every once in awhile a movie comes along that doesn't say anything new, doesn't offer anything particularly outstanding in the field of acting and isn't offense, boring or really bad. "Morning Glory" fits in those categories.



The actors, Harrison Ford, Diane Keaton, Jeff Goldblum, Patti D'ArbanvilleMcAdams who is pleasant enough but not a new Julia Roberts which would have
added the sparkle this movie needed to get out of the so-so level.
and other vets give journeymen performances though Ford goes a little overboard in the disagreeable mode.   The movie is centered around Rachel

Manhattan is photographed in all its mid-town beauty, sparkly and green, by Alwin Kuchler, and the TV studios look like they did in movies of 20-30 years ago while the executive offices are strictly modern day. The directing by Roger Mitchell is pedestrian as is the screenplay by Aline Brosh McKenna, where the latter should have had snap, fast repertoire and the former sharp, rapid fire scenes.

This
film will, invariably, be compared to "Broadcast News" and will get
lost in that comparison. I would suggest, if you haven't seen it, you
would be better off watching that film than "Morning Glory", the latter
just being mediocre.

Thanks, but I have no intention of watching ANY movie. I have my reasons.
