1) If I see one more chase and/or one more fight on the 'silver screen' I will give up! Yes, I know Hollywood wants you to come to the movie theatres (and eat popcorn!) so they are giving you big 3-hour action movies but from now on I will stream them on my TV and fast-forward 2 hours and 30 minutes so I can watch/see 30 minutes of what the movie is about! (And I love that "Barbie" is outgrossing them!)


2) I don't remember the last time I saw "A Chorus Line" live on stage but a local theatre will be doing it here in January--maybe I'll treat myself to a pre-Leap Year birthday present.


3) The week before last I took Kathy to the Quarterdeck restaurant for her birthday and we both had the Jambalaya which is as great as ever. They have a new reward system so I was a little surprised that I got a 'buy 1, get 1 free' coupon email so Allen and I went this past Thursday and, for a change, I had their Shimp & Scallops Pasta--delicious!


4) It's no secret we are having a HEAT WAVE in the Southern United States but 'feel like' temperatures are in the 100s at 4 PM and 90s at 8 PM!?!?! That's crazy! And that's not just for a day or two--we have had 3 weeks of it so far.


5) I really don't mind the heat and/or humidity or that the ocean is too hot to jump into in order to cool off---the water is in the 90s!--but this past Thursday I had to face the fact that at 87 I am no longer getting older--I AM OLD! I won't get into it but Thursday after eating at the Quarterdeck, going food shopping and bringing up --3 trips--the grocery bags I had to lay down or I would fall down! I collapsed into my bed at 4 PM and didn't get up until 7:30 PM! I don't take naps! (By the way ice cream melts even in an air-conditioned apartment!)

Adding 'insult to injury' because of all the pain I have been experiencing this past Tuesday I spent a solid 6 hours on the phone making appointments (and transportation arrangements) to see various doctors from a new Vascular Surgeon, Podiatrist, Dentist, Orthopedic, Pulmonary to my Cardiologist just to mention 6 of the 9 appointments I have coming up starting Monday!


In any case, it is Saturday, 4:35 PM, it is pouring outside and I will force myself to eat refrozen ice cream!
